Since 2o13, The Wrong Biennale has connected thousands of artists, curators, museums, galleries, universities and cultural organisations through a global platform for digital and contemporary art.
For its 8th edition, happening from 1 November 2o27 to 31 March 2o28, The Wrong takes a big leap forward, and introduces a new awards programme; The Wrong Awards.
The Wrong Awards
A new programme created to reward, recognise and amplify outstanding artistic and curatorial work across The Wrong Biennale.
The Wrong Awards aka TWA extend the Biennale beyond exhibition and visibility, creating a new structure for recognition, financial support and international amplification.
Who is eligible
All artists, curators and Pavilions selected for The Wrong Biennale are automatically eligible for The Wrong Awards.
There is no separate application or additional fee.
What do the TWA recognise
TWA recognise exceptional contributions across the 8th edition, with a focus on:
- Artistic excellence.
- Originality and experimentation.
- Curatorial vision.
- Innovation in digital and contemporary art.
- Cultural and critical impact.
The programme is designed to identify work that does more than participate... Work that takes risks and pushes constructive contemporary artistic practice forward.
How are TWA decided
The TWA combine professional selection and community participation.
Works and projects are selected by the TWA Jury and voted on by TheWrong's international community, bringing together curatorial expertise with the collective voice of the global network that has grown around the Biennale since 2o13.

What do winners receive
The TWA are conceived not simply as prizes, but as a platform for further support.
Awards include financial grants, international recognition, dedicated promotion, increased visibility across TheWrong's network and new opportunities beyond the Biennale.
The objective is simple: when exceptional work emerges from TWA, we want it to travel further.
Who funds TWA
The TWA are collectively supported through the The Wrong Biennale Kickstarter campaign, alongside the production of the 8th edition.
A big part of the crowdfunding will directly support the TWA programme, helping fund money prizes, communications, promotion and the infrastructure required to give winning artists, curators and Pavilions greater international visibility.
In this way, TheWrong community does not simply participate, attend or experience the Biennale. It helps reward the people shaping it.

The Wrong Biennale opens worldwide.
All participating artists, curators and Pavilions become eligible for the TWA.
7 January 2o28.
TWA selection and voting begins.
21 January 2o28.
Voting closes.

Why TWA
The Wrong Biennale has always been built around participation, experimentation and distribution.
TWA adds two new layers: recognition and reward. Rather than a separate competition, it is a programme emerging directly from the Biennale.
TWA recognises the artists, curators and Pavilions presenting its most ambitious work.
