Artificial intelligence often hides behind the “black box”—opaque data and processes that shape systems of power, bias, and control. In contrast, Debox foregrounds transparency as both an aesthetic and political act. This pavilion highlights artists who expose the datasets, archives, and hidden labor of large language models. By surfacing the values and processes behind their work, they frame transparency itself as a radical gesture of resistance.
