TheWrong
Eclipse.
On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse will cross Europe. The first total eclipse visible in continental Europe since 1999.
Light will hesitate. Sound will not.
Open Call for Sound Works for a 24h Online Exhibition.
A solar eclipse is not an image on a screen.
It is a shared event that unfolds above us, regardless of location, language, or technology. For a brief moment, attention shifts away from devices and returns to the sky.
The Wrong Eclipse invites musicians, artists, sound practitioners, radio makers, crooners, poets, field recordists and experimental composers to contribute authoral sound-based works, tracks, albums and masterpieces to enhance the eclipse experience.
This exhibition is dedicated exclusively to sound.
Rather than asking audiences to watch artworks during the eclipse, we invite them to listen. The exhibition becomes an acoustic layer unfolding alongside the changing light, encouraging visitors to spend less time looking at screens and more time experiencing the event itself.
The eclipse remains the image. The exhibition is what can be heard while it happens.
Format.
All accepted works will be hosted by their creators on Bandcamp and linked through The Wrong Eclipse platform.
The exhibition functions as a distributed network of independent artist pages rather than a centralized archive. Artists retain control of their work while participating in a collective listening experience.
Eligible Works.
Submissions may be full albums or individual tracks. Visual artworks, videos, animations, and screen-dependent works will not be considered for this edition.
Bandcamp cover images should be understood as identifiers for the work and part of the primary artistic content. Artist name, songs, titles and credits will be listed like it shows in your Bandcamp.
Listening.
Participants and visitors are encouraged to experience the eclipse directly: outdoors, through a window, alone or together, with headphones or loudspeakers, in sunlight, shadow, cloud cover, or darkness.
The exhibition does not replace the eclipse.
It accompanies it.
